Where is Mrs Golder? by Farhan

Today Mrs Golder is probably sick with a cold. She is probably at the doctor's and she has some medicine for a sore throat. I miss Mrs Golder very much.

I think she is at home in bed sleeping with her blanket. When Mrs Golder wakes up she will have medicine.

Harvesting The Snow Peas by Leroy

We harvested the snow peas with the scissors. We cut the stem off the plant. We opened the snow pea pods. We ate the peas.

Changes All Around Us

Rooms 1 and 4 made a movie together about our learning on ‘Changes All Around Us'.

Around our school there are many changes. Change is part of life and we see it every day. Watch all the changes in our movie.

Grass Clippings by Zephaniah

Today we went out on the field to get some big grass clippings and we put them in the yellow bucket. Then we put them in the soil. 

Reflection

Today we looked at our names reflected in the mirrors. Our names were upside down. It was magic because it was upside down, but one was not upside down.

Ruapotaka Mural by Farhan

At our school we have a big mural. Inside the mural there are different pictures. There is a Tamaki River and there is Mt Wellington. There is a pukeko, an eel and a fish. Outside of the mural there is a frame. Inside of the mural are hearts.  

Snow Peas in the Garden

Room 4 planted snow pea seeds last term in yoghurt containers. The students raised the seeds in the classroom. The seeds sprouted and they were transplanted into the garden by the students last week. The seedlings are doing well and continue to grow. The students have been responsibly looking after the little plants by watering them every day.

Niuen Language Week by Jonathan

Last Friday we had a Niuen Language week assembly. We had a song to sing and it was called ‘Oraka’. Room four said the Niuen days of the week.

Reading My Books by Farhan

In the holidays me and my mum read my Hot Wheels book.  Mum and my baby brother came and sat down by me and watched me reading. It had three cars and they had bright colours.

My Holiday by Israel

In the holidays I was reading my book. I was reading my book in the lounge. I read my Safari book to my mum and my sister and it’s about animals.

Lights by Non Non

In the holidays, I went to the lights party. We went in a car.  My friends were with me. We played the box game. We looked at the lights and we played with the toys.

Ice Skating

Have you ever  been ice skating before? Well, I  have and it was fun. The ice was hard and it was very cold like snow. If you want to go ice skating, don’t forget to put on some warm clothes like jackets, jumpers, long pants, beanies, socks and gloves. Remember to put on  skates. You can put your hands out to balance yourself. 

Be careful with your skates. The blades are very sharp.

My Pet by Delina

Do you have a pet? I do. My pet is a puppy. Do you know What is a puppy? A puppy is a baby dog. My puppy’s name is Tweedy and it is a girl. Tweedy loves to drink milk and water. She eats meat a lot. 

Tweedy sleeps in my bed with me. She plays hide and seek with me at the park. I take Tweedy to the park for a run sometimes and then I give her a bath.

Things We Do in Summer by Jonathan

In Summer we can do lots of things. We can eat ice-cream and ice-blocks. We can play on the sand in summer. I like summer all the time every day.

We took buckets to the beach and we made some sandcastles. We ate some yummy crackers and potato chips at my nana’s house. I like it.

On Monday Room 4 sang a song called A
Taniwha. I liked it because everyone was singing beautifully. Everyone liked the assembly and the Taniwha song.

On Monday we were  singing a song called A Taniwha.  We had  Taniwha masks and we had the  sea props as well. We were performing in front of the whole school.

Today we went outside and we planted snow peas in yogurt containers. We put them in soil and water. It was really fun. After that we put them inside our classroom. Then we have to wait for them to grow.
