Visual Arts: Buzzy Bee Part 3

Here is our finished Buzzy Bee artwork. This wraps up our Kiwiana learning on Buzzy Bee, New Zealand's famous and popular toy. In the above artwork Buzzy Bee does what bees do best - collecting pollen and honey from flowers to feed the baby larvae which are resting in the beehive.

Ka pai tamariki, your artwork is beautiful and colourful.

Room 3 Shake Out Participation 2021

This morning at 9:30am Room 3 tamariki took part in the New Zealand Shake Out earthquake drill.

As soon as Mrs Golder's alarm went off we got down on the floor, put our hands over our head, stayed calm and quiet, and listened for earthquake noises to stop. Then we waited for our teacher to tell us when it was safe to get up.

You all were as quiet as a mouse. Tino pai tamariki for performing this drill so well.

Grace Heads Straight Into Her Online Learning Independently

Online learning for Term 4 2021 started this week. Here is Grace working very hard. It's great to see Grace using her  Room 3 Learning Hub site to learn independently without her teacher's guidance. You can see that she has completed her Spelling, Handwriting, Writing, Reading and Maths. She is very organised and knows what the online routines are. I am very proud of you Grace. Ka rawe for your independence.

Online Learning: Split Screen

Room 3 has been learning how to split their screen. It is not an easy skill and takes a lot of practise. It took a while for the tamariki to learn how to perform this new digital skill. Here is Grace's split screen. The purpose of splitting the screen is to be able to stay in view at all times with the teacher and having your Room 3 Learning Hub in front of you so that you can view your learning tasks at the same time. Tino pai to all those tamariki who were able to split their screen.

Room 3 Online Learning

Room 3 tamariki are learning about skip counting in 2's, 5's and 10's. Here's a screenshot of one of the things we do in our online learning.  We have a warm-up first before we start our lesson. The learners mark their own warm-ups. Tick if it's correct or dot if it's not correct. They are doing a great job coming to google meet for their learning. Ka pai!

JJ, Jonathan, Luke and Oshin At Their Maths Lesson

Today's maths lesson was to count backwards to solve subtractions problems up to 50.

It was a little tricky counting backwards when the number is bigger than 20. Room 5 students had to think very hard about the number before.

Look, there's Lorenzo in the queue waiting for his lesson.

Eva is a clever girl because she knows how to follow instructions during her online maths lesson, and this helped her achieve her learning goal.

Tino pai, Eva!
