Oshin: Kiwiana Tomato Sauce Bottle

I made this tomato sauce bottle. We were learning about Kiwiana. It was very hard to make. Mr O'Brien blew up the balloon for us and then we put pieces of newspaper around our balloon. We used glue to stick the newspaper on to the balloon. We glued 3 layers of newspaper. We painted the balloon red with our paintbrush. We created leaves and top and glued them on top of the balloon so that it looks like a tomato sauce bottle.

Steven: Kiwiana Tomato Sauce Bottle

I like my tomato sauce bottle because I worked very hard. I enjoyed doing the paper mache. It was a lot of fun. We got our hands all gooey and that was the fun part of making the bottle.  I like to open and close the top. It was enjoyable.

Novi: Kiwiana Tomato Sauce Bottle

I liked painting the tomato sauce bottle red and cutting the green paper leaves and top. I covered my hands with red paint and put my hands on the bottle so that there weren't any white spots on the bottle. I liked making the leaves the most. I made two leaf tops, one for me and one for JJ because he wasn't at school.

Mele: Kiwiana Tomato Sauce Bottle

I enjoyed making the leaves and the top. I had to roll the paper to make the top and I used glue to hold the paper down. I loved painting my tomato sauce bottle. We used balloons and Mr O'Brien helped us blow up the balloons. We used newspaper and glue to stick the newspaper pieces around the balloon.

Here is our finished Buzzy Bee artwork. This wraps up our Kiwiana learning on Buzzy Bee, New Zealand's famous and popular toy. In the above artwork Buzzy Bee does what bees do best - collecting pollen and honey from flowers to feed the baby larvae which are resting in the beehive.

Ka pai tamariki, your artwork is beautiful and colourful.

Hineiturama's Arm

Hineiturama had an accident a couple of weeks ago. Her mum took her to the hospital and the doctors and nurses put her arm in a cast. She's a little bit sore but is on the mend. Luckily, it was her left arm because she can still use her right arm to write and operate her ipad.

Take care and be careful Hineiturama.
