Story Writing with Miss Kingston

This morning our tamariki went outside. Together we looked around us at all the things we could do. The tamariki pointed at the grass and said it was sparkling. The children picked up the grass and felt the droplets of water, we talked about dew and when it forms. We saw the flowers in the garden bed. Our learners used their senses of smell, sight and touch to examine the flowers and the grass. Here are some stories that the children wrote.
By Miss Kingston.

Today outside we looked at the flowers. We found water on the grass and felt the flowers and the grass, it was wet.  By Hineiturama.

Today outside we saw the sun shining on the grass. We went to the grass and we went to the garden by Room 6. By Oshin.

The Pretty Flower

Planting Swan Plants by Luke

Room 5 did some planting out in the garden.

Last week the whole class planted some swan plants. We used yellow gloves to dig up the soil.

Snow Peas in the Garden

Room 4 planted snow pea seeds last term in yoghurt containers. The students raised the seeds in the classroom. The seeds sprouted and they were transplanted into the garden by the students last week. The seedlings are doing well and continue to grow. The students have been responsibly looking after the little plants by watering them every day.
