Visual Arts: New Zealand's Iconic Jandals

As part of our Kiwiana learning, Room 3 created the most famous and popular summer footwear, the jandals. Children and adults wear jandals everywhere. They are great as a beach footwear. 

Duffy Award: Lorenzo

This week's recipient of the Duffy Award is Lorenzo for his huge effort in attempting to read unfamiliar words. Ka rawe Lorenzo. 👏

Principal's Award: Steven

At today's virtual assembly, Steven received a Principal's Award for showing patience towards his classmates during online lessons. Ka rawe Steven. 👏 

JJ's Online Writing

Group 2 Reading group read a story called 'The Little Yellow Chicken' who had a party with his friends.  As a follow-up to their reading, JJ wrote a story about his party experience:

"On Sunday it was my uncle's birthday and we had a bbq. Then we had a cake with some ice-cream."

Today at the virtual School Assembly, Grace received a Duffy Award for answering questions correctly by looking at important words in her reading. Congratulations Grace! 👏

At this morning's virtual School Assembly Lorenzo received a Principal's Award for his commitment to learning by regularly attending his morning and afternoon online classes.

Visual Arts: Buzzy Bee Part 3

 Here is our finished Buzzy Bee artwork. This wraps up our Kiwiana learning on Buzzy Bee, New Zealand's famous and popular toy. In the above artwork Buzzy Bee does what bees do best - collecting pollen and honey from flowers to feed the baby larvae which are resting in the beehive.

Celebrating Diwali: The Festival of Light

Today is the Indian New Year. This morning Room 3 celebrated the Diwali festival by creating flowers using the rangoli pattern.

On the weekend something interesting happened. Yesterday no one came for trick or treating. I was worried that no one would visit me. Then it hit me. Nobody was visiting me because it was COVID.
